It is well documented the benefits of some off road work during the winter though I have never done it, mainly because I don’t (think I) like it.

Whilst looking for some motivation I came across the Bowhill Duathlon series.  It progresses from a 20min bike + 20m run to 40min bike + 40 min run over 3 events from November to February.

I remember seeing it last year on the Adventure Show program and thought it looked a suitably low key friendly event.  It could be the motivation I needed so I signed up.

So like it or not I now have something to keep me doing the offroad workouts and even if I don’t like it the mental approach to getting it done will be worthwhile.

Time to get the trail shoes on!!
